Transparency and Trust - How SLiveMusic Works

SLiveMusic exists to amplify live performances happening inside Second Life. We make it easier for fans to discover who is on stage right now, what shows are coming up, and where to teleport inworld to support the venues that host them.

Our mission is simple. Strengthen the live music community. Increase visibility. Support venues. Help artists grow their reach. Never replace the inworld experience.

Live Status

If an artist is broadcasting, we show them live. If they are offline, we show them offline. We do not require a HUD toggle or special software. We simply observe whether a publicly available stream is active.

When the stream is live, the artist appears live. When it stops, they disappear from the live list. It is automatic and based entirely on the public broadcast.

Upcoming Shows

Many artists publish their schedules using public Google Calendar links. When an artist chooses to share a public calendar, we can display their upcoming shows and any inworld teleport links included in the event details.

We do not access private calendars.
We do not require login credentials.
We do not modify or control the artist’s calendar.

We only read what the artist intentionally makes public.

Security and Privacy

SLiveMusic uses only publicly accessible information

We do not collect passwords.
We do not log into Second Life accounts.
We do not require API keys.
We do not track personal user data.

If an artist removes a public calendar link or stops broadcasting, SLiveMusic automatically reflects that change.

Supporting Venues is Paramount

Nothing replaces standing in a region and experiencing a live show with others. SLiveMusic is built to drive people into venues, not away from them.

Teleport links are prioritized.
Inworld attendance is encouraged.
Venues remain the foundation of the live music ecosystem.

We expand awareness so more people can find the stage and step into it.

For Artists

• Get discovered even when fans are not logged in yet
• Use what you already have: a public stream and an optional public calendar link
• Live status updates automatically based on your broadcast
• Your schedule stays yours. We only read what you intentionally share

For Venues

• Increase visibility for your events
• Drive more teleports into your region
• Surface SLURLs included in event listings
• Strengthen community engagement around your stage

SLiveMusic was built by members of the Second Life live music community. We believe in transparency, simplicity, and supporting the ecosystem that already exists.

If there is a stage set and a mic open, our purpose is to help more people find it.
